A $235,000 grant was awarded to an interdisciplinary team at the University of Georgia. The Vera Institute of Justice awarded grants to UGA and Washington State University to pilot their planned vision of the Rural Jails Research and Policy Network.

Vera announced the partnerships with University of Georgia and Washington State University to address the growing use of jails in Rural America. This research opportunity will shed light to rural places that have experienced a growth in incarceration over the last years.
